At Warpath Coffee, we take great pride in our craft because that's what makes great coffee. It starts with our Civil War-era roasting technique that carefully caramelizes the beans instead of burning them to a crisp. In order to innovate the modern cup of coffee, we looked back, way back. All the way to the 1860’s, when Jabez Burns invented a new type of coffee roaster designed not to scorch the beans in the roasting process. There was too much heat getting trapped in the drum, so he perforated the walls to allow the hot air to escape after the beans were properly roasted for richer, smoother flavor when brewed.
We use that original Civil War roasting style to caramelize our beans instead of burning them. A burnt coffee bean will need milk, sugar, and syrups to mask the acidic bitterness.
Crafted in Small Batches for Big Flavor
Warpath Coffee is roasted in small batches. We aren’t a mass-produced coffee brand, we take the time and care to ensure that every bag with our name on it is fresh, rich in flavor, and roasted to absolute perfection.
Loose lips sink ships, so we won’t go into too much detail into the planning process we have carefully created over our thirty years of experience in the industry. But in order to maintain peak freshness, we roast our beans in small batches, minimize the time they spend out of the roaster before they are nitrogen-flushed and sealed in airtight bags to protect their freshness and keep the beans at their most flavorful as they are shipped to our customers.
